Decommissioning

Scale deposits including NORM will be removed by circulating a solution of water and chemicals through the vessels until all deposits are removed. Circulation is established by installing special high temperature return hoses in order to create a closed loop with the circulation unit (depending on specific customer requirements rigid pipework may be installed).

The CEFAS registered chemicals are inorganic, biodegradable and water-soluble and will reach maximum efficiency and dissolving capacity at a temperature of 95°C.

As the chemical solution will not have any detrimental effects on the integrity of the pipework circulation will be perfectly safe.

Safety procedures, technical provisions and continuous monitoring of the process by trained operators ensure safe operation.

The cleaning process is controlled and monitored frequently to maximize efficiency of the chemical treatment and to minimize circulation time.

The process will be completed when the vessels are free classified (dependent on required classification criteria).
