Overview

These systems are ideal for the protection of indoor process areas and truck loading racks within power transmission, petrochemical and pharmaceutical plants.  They are also used for the protection of oil storage tanks, oil filled transformers and lubricating oil systems.  The type of foam nozzles, branchpipes and monitors, their flow rate and discharge angle are all individually tailored by Tyco design engineers to suit client specific risk requirements.

The system utilises a Deluge System control valve and a variety of discharge devices depending upon the type of fire risk involved. Medium Velocity water spray discharge nozzles.  The type of nozzle, the flow rate, and discharge angle is determined by the type of risk involved.

Medium Velocity water spray nozzles can also be used with low expansion foam for small bund protection to suppress hazardous chemical vapours that may occur as a result of storage tank rupture.

Foam pourers or extended wide angle foam nozzles are extremely effective for fighting medium sized bund fires. For very large bund areas involving oil storage tanks a combination of tank top pourers and long throw nozzles can be used.
