Overview
The ProtectoSpray System is designed to apply water in finely divided droplets travelling at medium velocity to protect vessels, structures and plant against fires, which involve highly flammable liquids and gases having a flash point below 66oC.
It achieves this in three ways: firstly, by rapidly cooling surfaces to prevent a dangerous absorption of heat and reduce the rate of vaporisation; secondly, by producing steam that dilutes the air and vapour feeding the fire; and thirdly, by introducing droplets into the flame front to cool the fire and transfer the heat back to the liquid surface.
