Overview

There are two types of ProtectoMist nozzles available, these being either the sealed bulb, or, open type nozzles. Open nozzles are used in dry pipe Deluge Valve systems where the nozzle discharge is activated manually or from an automatic detection system allowing watermist to be discharged simultaneously from all nozzles in the zoned area.

Open Object Protection nozzles are ideally suited for the protection of workshop presses, foam blowing units, engines, transformers and gas turbines. These patented directional nozzles contain a special internal spiral to envelop the hazard in water mist to rapidly extinguish a fire.

Open Volume Protection nozzles are ideally suited for the protection of cable tunnels, machinery spaces and flammable liquid stores. Post fire security of pool type fires can be enhanced when ProtectoMist is used in conjunction with AFFF foam that will maximise extinguishing performance against fires anywhere in the protected space. 

Sealed bulb nozzles are used in Wet Valve pipe systems. In the event of a fire, only the nozzle directly affected by the seat of the fire will operate to control the fire in its earliest stages and prevent it from spreading.  The sealed bulb is supplied in a variety of temperatures and will only activate when the sealed bulb burst at the pre-determined temperature.  This then allows the control valve within the nozzle to open and discharge the watermist directly on to the seat of the fire.
