Our ProtectoMist Object Protection systems combine a traditional automatic Deluge system with water mist technology to create a local application method of extinguishment..  In the event of a fire, a fire detection system actuates the release of water, which flows from patented directional nozzles with a special internal spiral to envelop the hazard in water mist.

The ProtectoMist system nozzles are arranged on pipework around the protected risk so that the water mist is directed to all parts of it, to enclose and isolate any fires that may develop. Due to the unique nozzle characteristics, ProtectoMist local application is tolerant of general ventilation or loss of enclosure integrity that can occur with some gaseous fire suppression systems.

In general, ProtectoMist can be used to control and extinguish fires involving ordinary combustibles, such as wood and paper; flammable liquids and gases; and electrical equipment and cables in areas sheltered from high wind speeds.

ProtectoMist rapidly cools and extinguishes fires, making it particularly suitable for flammable liquid fires which can develop rapidly and re-ignite if the fuel and ignition sources are not cooled. The ProtectoMist local application concept, which encloses the risk, can also be used to scrub toxic gas releases. ProtectoMist can also be used to close off openings in fire compartments.
