The ballast system is one of the most critical systems on the vessel. Operation of the system must be closely constrained and finely adjusted to cope with the demands of work that the vessel is involved in; drilling, pipelaying, crane barge, diving support, etc.

Tyco has successful experience in designing, manufacturing and commissioning of the hydraulic element of ballast control and monitoring systems. This includes hydraulic power generation and distribution via SOV distribution cabinets designed to provide the interface between the FPSO automation system and the hydraulic actuated valves. Equipment is designed to be distributed around the FPSO with full hazardous area certification and SIL 3 certification.
